Active Women and Girls Program
https://www.qld.gov.au/recreation/sports/funding/active-women-girls-program
This grant funding enabled us to host two MTB skill workshops, called the Empowering Women & Girls MTB Program.
The objective of this program was to encourage and support women and girls in embracing mountain biking as a form of physical activity, adventure, and community engagement. It aimed to provide a supportive and inclusive space for female participants to develop their biking skills, build confidence, and foster connections within the mountain biking community.
We gratefully acknowledge the generous support of The Queensland Government, who provided funding for this workshop through the Active Women and Girls Program. This program aims to boost sport and active recreation opportunities for women and girls in Queensland.

Active Clubs Round 4
https://www.qld.gov.au/recreation/sports/funding/active-clubs
The Active Clubs Round 4 grant provided funding to not-for-profit local and regional sport and active recreation organisations to support volunteers and provide increased physical activity opportunities.
Gladstone MTB used this funding for:
- training so 5 club members could become AusCycling Community Instructors. This included completing First Aid (HLTAID011) and Community Instructor courses, while also obtaining a Working with children (Blue card). This investment in our volunteers boosts our ability to provide first aid response at events, while also promoting safe sport for riders of all ages.
- the purchase of a jigsaw jump ramp to help train MTB skills for riders.
- the purchase of four durable signs (2 of each type shown below) to be used during events. These signs will inform other park users of club events and races that are in progress, improving the safety of all participants and volunteers.

Pedals and Progress Skills Workshops
Thanks to this Grassroots funding grant, we hosted 4 x Pedal & Progress MTB skills workshops. These workshops provided structured training and guided rides. The aim was that all participants would gain confidence and skills necessary to fully embrace the thrilling world of mountain biking while creating enduring relationships within the local club.
